Held By Healing Love - A Mother's Day Poem

Mother’s Day holds both celebration and longing. Whatever you carry, God’s faithful love draws near—holding our tears, healing what’s been torn, and steadying our joy.

Today we lift our gratitude like sunrise, warm and strong,

And bring our whole hearts to the God to whom we all belong;

We honor mothers, women whose love helps others grow,

Daughters to mothers, mothers to grandmothers—held in His hands, hope will flow.

Some lift a child and laugh through bright, ordinary days,

Some grandmothers pour out peace through stories, prayer, and praise;

Some keep an empty place with tenderness, for those they cannot hold,

And God receives their unsaid words, and warms them like pure gold.

Some hands are empty longing has its weight;

Yet God gives quiet strength—one steady breath—to help us wait;

A card can bless—or press a tender wound—

But God stays close—His loving hands are where we’re found.

Some miss a mother's voice and steady grace;

Some miss the child—or future time did not make space;

Some learned to mother tenderly, in ways both small and true,

And brave the day with God, who makes all things new for you.

For God draws close like lamplight where worn-out hearts reside;

His faithful hands hold fast; we’re safe with Him inside;

He keeps our tears—each one a sacred prayer,

And pours in peace until we breathe with hope—right there.

He heals us slowly, stitching what was torn,

And meets our midnight with the promise of a morn;

He turns our scars to stories, softly told,

And makes our hearts more gentle, brave, and bold.

For every joy, let grateful hearts rise up and sing;

For every loss, let God draw near, and mercy gently bring;

For daughters, mothers, grandmothers—there’s bloom and thorn—

Yet held in His hands, our hearts can sing—though once forlorn.

So if you laugh, let laughter rise—let gratitude be raised;

If you are aching, let your tears fall—held and not erased.

For God’s great Love can mend what pain once tore—

And in His hands we’re made anew—so we can love, and hope, and more.
