it: mindful meditation

One-Minute Solitude Meditation

Find a relaxing position. Soften your eyes. Take a deep breath in and slowly exhale. Set a timer for one minute as you “still” in solitude reflecting on the Goodness of the Father.

Lecto Divina - What do you hear?

The Master said, “Martha, dear Martha, you’re fussing far too much and getting yourself worked up over nothing. One thing only is essential, and Mary has chosen it—it’s the main course, and won’t be taken from her.” Luke 10:41-42 (MSG)

Read. Reflect. Respond. Rest.

Visio Divina - What do you see?

Meditative Reading

These two ladies represent the timeless struggle between being consumed by busyness and distraction and the pursuit of what truly matters in life. Martha embodies the tendency to prioritize the trivial and the immediate, leading to stress and anxiety. On the other hand, Mary's choice to focus on the "main course" signifies her commitment to what is truly essential, suggesting a deeper understanding of priorities and values.

The message conveyed here goes beyond the simple act of meal preparation and touches upon the broader theme of mindfulness and intentionality in our daily lives. It prompts us to reflect on how often we find ourselves caught up in the frenzy of tasks and obligations, neglecting the True Essence of our life. By emphasizing the importance of choosing the essential, we are able reevaluate our priorities and invest our time and energy in Who truly nourishes our souls and brings fulfillment to our lives.

Adoration

Abba, I long to embody "It" and remain by Your side undistracted, experiencing pure contentment in my heart.
