Cultivating Divine Identity

Cultivating our divine identity brings our hearts and spirits to life. This isn’t just about reading scripture but opening ourselves to God’s reminders of who we truly are. The bible is filled with encouragement, helping us see ourselves as cherished Daughters of the King—each uniquely made with purpose, grace, and worth.

Let’s explore nurturing our spirit and discovering God’s love. This can be achieved by engaging deeply with scripture, cultivating moments of reflection, and genuinely embracing the identity God describes.

When I read God’s words for me, I approach with an open heart and curiosity. Even though I may have read the scripture before, treating each reading as new allows for fresh insights. I listen for nudges and promises, reminders of God’s love, and explore truths that need reinforcement as I seek guidance to remove anything not grounded in truth.

My favorite verse I go back to time and time again is Psalm 139:14 from the Message Translation, "I thank you, High God—you're breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation!

What a gorgeous truth to hold onto!

After reading scripture, I pray for understanding and take my time with each verse, letting it sink in. If something resonates, I jot down my thoughts and feelings. Here are a few things I was taught about reading to understand and metabolize scripture

Pray for understanding before you begin. Ask God to open your heart and mind.

Read slowly and reflectively, savoring each verse.

Journal your thoughts and feelings as you encounter truths about your identity.

Meditate on key scriptures, repeating them softly to yourself throughout the day.

Don’t rush—enjoy the process. Every moment in God’s word is a chance to let your true identity sink in a little deeper. Reading scripture is not a sprint - it is a marathon.

As a designer, I loved crafting environments—bringing care and intention to each space. Honestly, I can't help but bring that same passion into my time with God. For me, it’s never just about finding a spot to sit; it’s about creating a place that feels inviting and special, even if it’s just a chair by the window or a blanket in the grass. Some days, I settle into the Oasis Creative Prayer Studio with a cup of tea and soft music. Other times, I find myself tucked into a nook on our porch or sprawled out at my favorite park, letting the breeze and sunlight be part of my prayer.

I’ve discovered that time with God doesn’t have to look a certain way—it’s deeply personal. Some mornings, I pour out my thoughts in a journal, writing letters to God about my hopes, fears, or even what made me laugh that day. Other times, I just sit quietly and let my mind wander in His presence. However it happens, these moments are sacred and uniquely mine.

If you’re reading this and wondering how to start, my encouragement is to experiment—try creating a little corner or routine that feels like yours. Let it reflect who you are. There’s no right or wrong way to spend time with God—just your way. That’s what makes it meaningful.

Personal time is valuable, and walking alongside a group of sisters makes the journey even richer. There’s nothing quite like encouragement from women who truly understand. Sisters who pray together create an unbreakable bond. I feel grateful for the inspiring women I pray for and share with each week.

Remember, the point of our journey is to explore our divine identity at our own pace. There’s no single right way to do it—some days will feel easier than others. Be gentle with yourself, knowing that every step forward helps you internalize the truth of who you really are in God.

As we dig deeper, one of the sweetest parts of exploring our divine identity is uncovering God’s promises for us. These truths are like anchors for our soul, steadying us through doubts and hard days. 2 Corinthians 5:17 from the Message Translation says, "Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it!

What an invitation to step into everything God made you to be.

As you soak in God’s promises—let them refresh your spirit and remind you you belong. Write down promises that resonate, reflect on their meaning in your life, and speak them aloud as declarations. Let these become part of your daily perspective as His daughter.

If you feel the need for more structure or long for a deeper sense of community, consider joining a Bible study. These groups guide you through scripture with thoughtful questions, reflection, and lots of encouragement from others. When you join a group, you get to learn from other women’s insights and experiences, encourage each other, and keep each other going when things get tough. It’s a safe space to ask questions, explore doubts, and just be real together.Through whichever path you choose, whether you find your community locally or online, the sisterhood you build will encourage and inspire you. You’re never alone on this journey—we’re in it together, discovering the beautiful truths of who we are. True transformation comes when you start living out your divine identity every day—embracing your worth, walking confidently, and letting God’s love shine through everything you do.

As you explore with God, keep a few gentle reminders tucked in your heart.

~You are chosen and cherished by God.

~Your voice matters.

~Your story is important.

~Seriously, there is a unique purpose only you can fulfill.

~Grace covers your imperfections and empowers your growth.

~Be patient and gentle with yourself.

~Growth is a journey, not a race.

~Each step is an act of faith and love

~And don’t forget to rest in the assurance that you are deeply known and loved.

Let these truths show up in your everyday life. These little daily practices will nurture your soul and help you walk confidently in your beautiful, God-given identity.

One last work, if consistency is tough, weave spiritual habits into daily life: set a phone reminder, keep your bible or journal visible, or pair study time with routines like morning coffee or bedtime. Even a few minutes a day helps build steady habits.

Dear Father,

I pray that my sisters find peace in scripture, strength in Your promises, and joy in community as You continue to reveal more truth about our divine identity. We proudly embrace our identity as Your cherished daughter with boldness and grace! May our hearts remain open and our spirits willing as You nourish our souls with the unending love that calls us a Daughter of the King.

In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

My you, lovely, discover more of who you are—so deeply loved, wonderfully made, and beautifully chosen.
