Identity Reflection

Embracing Your Identity

Your Attributes

You are a woman of value.

You have great worth.

Your identity if firmly sealed in who you are

as a Daughter of the King.

Day One

Your Unique Identity

Your true identity lies not in what you do, but in Whose you are. You are a royal daughter of the Most High King. You have royal blood running through your veins because the King of Kings lives in your heart. You have been intricately created and every hair on your head is numbered.

You are deeply loved and cherished by your Heavenly Papa. Nothing that you do this side of heaven can make you earn His love. He loves you just because you are you. He created your quirks and eccentricities. He loves your laugh. He melts in your smile. He is your biggest cheerleader and the broadest shoulders you have to cry upon.

He is jealous for you because He craves your love. He will never reject you because He loves you too much to ever turn you away. He has the best of the best ready for your life. He is all - all the time. He never tires of you, not for one minute.

With a Father as amazing as this, why do we struggle with knowing and feeling our true identity? Because the enemy is afraid of you! Yes, he is scared stiff! He knows when you walk in the knowledge of your full identity you are a wrecking ball to his plans. He knows you can take him out and put him into submission with the mention of one name . . . Jesus. He knows that when you are fully alive and aware and walking in the true knowledge of your identity that you are no match for him.

Reflection

How do you feel about who God created you to be?

But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do His work and speak out for Him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference He made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.

1 Peter 2:9 10 (MSG)

Prayer

Dear Father,

In this moment of profound reflection, I confidently seek Your divine intervention to transform my mind and align my thoughts.  My inner narrative, tangled with confusion and distortion, has misled me.  I am determined to find clarity and understanding, breaking free from mental turmoil.

I need You to liberate me from my mind's constraints as I fully embrace the life You have designed for me—a life filled with purpose, joy, and freedom.  Guide me towards Your truth so I can fully experience the richness of life You intended for me, unencumbered by a misguided inner dialogue.

In Jesus' Name.  Amen.

Day Two

A Closer Look at Identity

What happens when we walk in the knowledge of our full identity?

First, our flesh submits as we seek to glorify God with our whole being. Next, we are not afraid of the future and what it holds for our lives.

Then the comparison game ends because the only opinion that holds any weight is that of the One in whom our identity is hidden.

Finally, we face resistance because there is a war inside our being. But we have all the armor necessary to win the war when we walk with the knowledge of our true identity.

Sometimes in God’s grace, He allows the very thing we fear losing the most to be taken away to reveal that we have sought our identity in something other than Him. As He grows us in understanding that our true identity is in Him, we are then freed to enjoy and glorify Him in the unique ways He has created us.

Suffering gradually changes our earthly perspective into an eternal one.

Reflection

Are you looking for your identity outside of the Father?

Do you find yourself holding tightly onto something in fear that you’ll be lost without it?

How blessed is God! And what a blessing He is! He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in Him. Long before He laid down earth’s foundations, He had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of hHs love, to be made whole and holy by His love. Long, long ago He decided to adopt us into His family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure He took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of His lavish gift-giving by the hand of His beloved Son.

Ephesians 1:4-6 (MSG)

Amen.

Day Three

What God Says About Your Identity

These scriptures speak truth about your identity. Read them over yourself.

Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.

Romans 15:7 (NLT)

ee how very much our Father loves us, for He calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know Him. Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but He has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He really is.

1 John 3:1-2 (NLT)

Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are His child, God has made you His heir.

Galatians 4:7 (NLT)

Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.

Psalm 139:14 (NLT)

But to all who believed Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God.

John 1:12 (NLT)

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, or God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NLT)

Reflection

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)

How does this make you feel?

Prayer

Dear Father,

I want to explore the beautiful mystery of my true identity and the incredible purpose You have designed for me! Sometimes, I feel lost as the world around me tries to shape who I should be.

Every day, I embrace various roles, yet I yearn to connect deeply with my authentic self—the person You dreamed I would become. I'm eager to peel back the layers that conceal my true identity and celebrate the unique gifts You've bestowed upon me.

Please guide me on my journey of identity-discovery! Help me listen to my heart and recognize Your divine signs in my path. Please grant me the courage to explore my inner self, confront my shadows, and glean who I am and why I am here for such a time as this. I wholeheartedly trust You and ask for Your hand as You guide me.

In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Day Four

What God Says About Your Identity

These scriptures speak truth about your identity. Read them over yourself.

And we know that God causes everything to work together[a] for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Romans 8:28 (NLT)

So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:1 (NLT)

He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of His Son and forgave our sins.

Ephesians 1:7 (NLT)

So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.

John 8:36 (NLT)

No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us

Romans 8:37 (NLT)

By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence.

2 Peter 1:3 (NLT)

But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.

1 John 4:4 (NLT)

Reflection

Since God chose you to be the holy people He loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Colossians 3:12 (NLT)

How does this make you feel?

Prayer

Dear Father,

I release all my worries and cares to You, for Your love for me is immeasurable. Lord, You are good, a steadfast refuge in times of trouble. You are always by my side, and I completely trust You. Father, Your power inspires me to find strength within myself, just as You do. I ask that You take everything You've prepared for me and use it for Your divine purpose. This journey is not just a passing phase but a deep and lasting commitment.

Without Your guidance, Father, I surely would have lost my way. The moment I cried out, "I'm slipping, I'm falling," Your loving embrace steadied me. You calmed my heart and lifted my spirit during my most overwhelming times. I keep my eyes on You. As I seek refuge in Your presence, please watch over me.

In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Day Five

Identity Reflection

So quietly before Jesus allow Him to show you that He knows everything about you: every time you were hurting, every time you were lonely, every time you were afraid. Let Him fill in all that was spiritually and emotionally missing at the time. Let Him come to those places in your life where even now you need His healing touch.

Let Him replace your glasses as you honestly ponder these questions.

Do you feel beautiful? If not, why do you feel worthless, and unaccepted, and unloved, or misunderstood?

Are there things in your life or from your past that have caused your identity to not be reflected correctly through your glasses?

Is it hard for you to imagine that your God-given identity?

Reflection

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for He called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light.

1 Peter 2:9 (NLT)

Prayer

Dear Father,

When I don't see myself in the full knowledge of the truth of how I was created, you come and replace my glasses. It’s almost too much for me to fathom. Thank you that in this exchange you give me beauty for my ashes. Come by your Holy Spirit now, and reveal the lies that are altering my identity. Help me see myself with fresh vision in this moment.

In Jesus Name. Amen.

Day Six

Embracing Your Identity

When you fully embrace your identity, you know several things are the absolute truth in your life.

~ You have high value and worth.

You do not settle for anything less as a Daughter of a King.

~ You have royal identity and are born into a royal family. As a result of your royal identity, you are chosen and you have influence with those around you.

~ You shine, daughter! You shine in your identity not because it is earned but because it is your birthright. Your identity was sealed with your salvation.

~ You are unstoppable. Your limits know no end. The enemy has no legal authority to harm or touch you.

~ You never have to wonder if God is for you, with you, or listening to you. He is good all the time and He wants you to fulfill your destiny.

~ You have God-given authority because of Whose you are.

~ You are more than enough. Almighty God created you uniquely! You are an original!

Reflection

Do any of these statements feel false in your life?

For His Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are His children, we are His heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share His glory, we must also share His suffering.

Romans 8:16-17 (NLT)

Prayer

Dear Father,

I often struggle to feel loved and accepted. I have profound doubts about my worth and place in this world. It seems like affection and acceptance are always out of reach, slipping away like sand. I want to feel valued not for what I can do but for who I am. This longing for connection weighs heavily on my heart sometimes making it hard to handle my emotions.

Every day, I look for reassurance, hoping to feel embraced and cherished. Too often, though, I battle self-doubt. This struggle makes me feel isolated as if I am standing outside of love, watching others enjoy the acceptance I long for.

I want to understand what it means to experience unconditional love and feel that my life matters in Your grand design. These feelings are important as I try to find my place in a sometimes indifferent world. I am worthy of love and acceptance, and these feelings can become my reality. Please help me with this deep longing in my heart.

In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Day Seven

Your Attributes: This is who you are

You are fearfully and wonderfully made original.

You are so intimately aware of me, Lord. You read my heart like an open book and you know all the words I’m about to speak before I even start a sentence! You know every step I will take before my journey even begins.

O Lord, You have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!

Psalm 139: 1- 6 (NLT)

Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes.

Ephesians 1:4 (NLT)

You are a priceless treasure.

Now if you will obey Me and keep my covenant, you will be My own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to Me.

Exodus 19:5 (NLT)

I was chosen for this moment in time. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?

Esther 4:14 (NLT)

You have a God-ordained purpose.

I have a custom-made plan for my life. For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for well-being and not for trouble, to give you a future and a hope.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)

For His Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are His children, we are His heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share His glory, we must also share His suffering.

Romans 8:16-17 (NLT)

Reflection

How do you feel about being an original, priceless treasure who has been ordained with a God-given purpose?

Prayer

Dear Father,

Help me to stop and still as I embrace myself as Your beautiful creation, crafted with purpose and love. Looking in the mirror, I struggle to see my true reflection, often overwhelmed by self-doubt and harsh judgments. I find it challenging to acknowledge the unique qualities and strengths You have given me, focusing instead on perceived flaws that cloud my perception. I long to embrace my individuality and appreciate the intricate details that define me, just as You intended.

Please guide me in transforming my perspective so I may see the beauty in my imperfections and my true godly character. Teach me to celebrate my journey and understand that my worth is defined not by external standards but by the love and grace You provide. In moments of reflection, please help me find peace and acceptance, recognizing the Divine artistry of my existence that was given to me by my Dear Father.

In Jesus' Name. Amen.
